Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3

Well the date is set and the postcards are on order, the reception menu is decided, and now all I have to do is finish the rest of the ATC's.
My 1-(wo)man show is from April 4 - May 1st.
I have designed 2 postcards:

(the back is the same for both)

Most of you have seen these, but here's a sample of what I'm showing. The theme; Backyard Birds, will be birds of Santa Barbara, their nests and their babies. I wanted to display them in a natural setting without losing the idea of the ATC. Most of the cards can be removed from their frames, so they retain the idea of ATC. The only caveat being that the owner of the coffee shop wants them to be for sale (as he gets a percentage, customary, and the whole idea of allowing art to adorn the walls) so theoretically they are not for trading....I have to say, most Baseball Trading Cards are not traded either....and you don't have to play baseball to collect them. So I suppose you shouldn't have to be an artist to collect Artist Trading Cards.

So here's what I have (at least what I've uploaded. I have alot more done than this)

I wish my dA friends could be there for the reception, it will be a dessert menu and coffee shop drinks. I am pretty excited about this one...and I have to thank ALL of you for your support, you guys are the BEST!!! (Check out
