Artistic Excuse #1
I have been absent from dA for so long, I can't come up with a better excuse than I've been busy. Truth be told I haven't felt the urge to create, because the truth is, all I have to do is look around dA and it's full of 'busy' people, doing art.
But not me, I have taken on a fantastically perfect job for me (in the most unartistic atmosphere) as a Personal/Executive Assistant. I have the ability to think in an very organized fashion (very left brained), which works well for me in the 'ability to create an income', department, but not so well in the 'ability to create art' department. seems I'm not bi-brained.
So I will just have to bombard

June Gloom
The normal weather pattern for June, here in Santa Barbara is a heavy marine layer...aka Fog. 7 am looks like 10am, looks like 3pm...then miraculously, at about 5pm the sun comes out!
If you look at the images I'm featuring, you might get the wrong idea...the marine layer really is nothing like fog, fog is mysterious, surreal and somewhat alluring...the Marine Layer is none of those things, its a heavy cloud layer that doesn't change any of the natural value changes, lights and darks, you find in a typical day. Fog would be a wonderful change....

Local High School Students Become Guardian Angels
In a time when budget cuts are taking Art away from students in our community, student's Art is giving back. With their art, they are creating Hope. Their portraits of missing children hold hope and act as a reminder that we must be forever vigilant in our pursuit to reunite these children with their families. These young artists are learning that through their art they can make a difference to families they have never met.
